Whispering Angel Provence Rosé is a beautifully pale pink with a perfumed bouquet of elegant summer fruits. The palate is refined and elegant with faint cherry notes and beautifully integrated balancing acidity. This superb rose is made from a blend of old vines and using traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, resulting in a rounded and expressive Provence rose with unusual complexity.
We tried this recently at a staff tasting and it was outstanding among the other wines we tried. We tried it with creamy chicken dishes, but it even worked with a spicy beef stir fry! So versatile and well made.
Whispering Angel Provence Rosé is also currently available by the glass in The Wine Press, Dundee's finest Wine Bar.
Critic Review
Decanter Magazine: 88Pts
"Neutral on the nose, followed by surprising restraint on the palate. Lacy, creamy, slightly underripe red berries and hints of white pepper are cut through by a crisp citrus acidity. Excellent phenolic extraction, this has the weight to hold up to an ice bucket. It lacks some of the ripe opulence on the finish that I would expect from Côtes de Provence, but although it still shows the crispness and freshness of the 2021 vintage, the overall quality is consistent with previous vintages and this still tastes classically Whispering Angel."

About the Producer
Chateau d’Esclans, a magical property, is situated in the heart of Provence, northeast of St. Tropez. With his acquisition of the Château in 2006, Sacha Lichine’s vision was to create the greatest rosés in the world, igniting the “Rosé Renaissance”. Now in its sixteenth vintage, Château d’Esclans is home to Whispering Angel.

Vineyard and Winery
Whispering Angel is made from grapes sourced from amongst the most choice Vineyards in the vicinity of the Esclans Valley and nearby in the Cotes de Provence region. Harvesting is conducted during the night time to avoid the heat of the day & to keep the crop fresh. Upon arriving in the Cellars, grapes are sorted for both health and quality through Optical Eye Sorting ensuring that the grapes, ultimately selected, are assessed accurately in terms of overall quality.
Next is Soft Crushing followed by Temperature Reduction from approximately 20 degrees down to 7-8 degrees to lock in freshness and vivacity. Closed Circuit Pressing is conducted facilitating Minimal Oxidation producing Free Run Juice which is vinified in Stainless Steel, Temperature Controlled, Fermentation Tanks during which Battonage is conducted twice weekly.
