Refined sparkling Italian white that offers that step up in quality from Prosecco, despite the similar price tag. Dry, delicate and slightly aromatic Cavicchioli Pignoletto 1928 Modena is a versatile wine that pairs beautifully with all meals, or just have it as an aperitif. Light straw yellow in colour, the pour displays a creamy white crystalline foam with fine, persistent perlage. The nose has aromatic nuances of white flowers and jasmine, whilst the palate is dry and soft with a long finish of floral sensations.

Although Cavicchioli 1928 Pignoletto Brut NV will pair with pretty much anything, it is ideal as an aperitif, with risotto, tortellini or fish dishes.

Vineyard and Winery

Obtained purely from Pignoletto grapes grown in the vineyards north of Modena. The pressed grapes are cooled with the skins at a low temperature for approximately 24-36 hours. After the second Charmat-type fermentation of approximately 20-25 days, the new sparkling wine continues to refine on its fermentation yeasts for another 4-5 weeks. A pleasantly fresh white sparkling wine, with a fine and elegant taste, dry with a long finish of floral sensations.
Soft pressing with whole grapes at a controlled temperature and addition of selected yeasts. Second fermentation in “cuve close” at low temperature and rest for 120 days in an autoclave on the yeasts.

Perfect bottle!

Love this prosecco. I first had it in Hong Kong when we lived there. Been looking for it over here since we moved back. It is the perfect bottle and great for presents.

A definite favourite

Great fizz, it's our go to when buying. Agree, too good to be wasted on adding liqueur. Family who like outside Dundee often ask for us to bring some over. Highly recommended.

Best Bottle of Fizz

I often dislike or find Fizz gives me an instant hangover. However, I looooove Pignoletto. I give it constantly as presents as its so drinkable. Too good to add liquers to or for making cocktails> 5 stars for me!!

Worth the bit extra

Bit more interesting than the usual prosecco I buy. I probably wouldn't mix with a liqueur like I normally do with prosecco which is why it's only 4 stars not 5 but I'd defiantly buy it again.
